Aisling Bea

She is the daughter of Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan. Sinead, her younger sister, was born. The only ever female winner of So You Think You're Funny. Bea is her surname in honour of her deceased father. Aisling Cliodhnadh was born on March 16, 1984 in Kildare Town, County Kildare. Bea's father Brian is an equine doctor who took his own life when she was just three. Bea didn't learn how her father passed away until she was thirteen. The stage name she chose was Bea as a tribute to her father. She also wrote an article for The Guardian in 2017 about her family's experience of suicide. Bea was raised alongside her sister Sinead with Helen Moloney. Helen is a secondary teacher, jockey trainer, as well as a former professional racer. Her family were fascinated by racing and horses. As a young girl, Bea was a tour guide for the Irish National Stud however she knew from a young stage that she was not attracted to the race industry for a profession, but instead was a performer.
